Job description
Title: Director and Head, Global HR Systems

Leads and oversee the Core HR, Talent, Payroll and Time teams for Global HR technology to ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Drives the strategic evolution of the HR product ecosystem to the global target state

In this role you will:
  • Leads a HR-partner and customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. The purpose of a close relationship is to enable continuous alignment to GHR’s operational and strategic priorities.
  • Delivery of strategic project, from conception to completion, including design of solutions to resolve GHR/GHRT strategic priorities, funding, resourcing, delivery and on-going support.
  • Ensures excellence in the ongoing operations of GHRT, including the management of risk, optimizing reliability, and ensuring issue resolution. This includes delivering on ongoing enhancements, maintaining software currency and security, and ensuring compliance to Bank Information Security policies and guidelines. Owns the Global HR Technology strategy and roadmap, with a goal of moving to a single global HR product suite.
  • Responsible for the creation and management of the overall software-as-a-service application technology roadmap in partnership with Global HR.
  • Is responsible vendor relationship and management for vendors and contracts owned and managed by GHRT, and ensures all procurement and third party risk management standards are met, and ongoing oversight an governance of relationships is effective.
  • Meets budgets and targets for transits projects and cost centres managed and adheres to all Bank standards
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
  • A bachelors or master’s degree, Engineering, Computer Science, or Accounting/Business.
  • 15+ years Banking, HR and Technology leadership experience. Specifically, candidates should have a deep knowledge of HR Technology across a broad scope of platforms, including but not limited to: Payroll, Time & Attendance, Core HR, Talent Management.
  • Candidates require strong leadership, communication, and strategic influencing capability
  • Strong strategic and analytical capability. Thinks critically to evaluate broad impacts of work
  • Able to assess difficult compliance and other regulatory issues, exercise sound judgement expeditiously with respect to such issues and defend decisions
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective business relationships, influence others and comfort interacting with senior executives (VP/SVP+)
  • Expert IT management experience, systems design, security, availability, disaster recovery, third party risk management, change management, release management. Exposure to cloud controls would be an asset.
  • Spanish language skills are an asset
