Role Overview
The Digital Marketing Assistant will support the execution and optimization of digital marketing initiatives across email, SMS, content, and e-commerce. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and excited to work in a fast-paced retail environment. You’ll work closely with marketing, e-commerce, buying, planning, and creative teams to help deliver best-in-class digital experiences for our customers.
Additionally, this role will provide key support in covering responsibilities for the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist during their maternity leave, ensuring continuity in digital campaigns, content workflows, and channel execution until their return.
Key Responsibilities
1. Email & SMS Marketing Execution
- Build, schedule, and deploy engaging email and SMS campaigns using Klaviyo (and Attentive for SMS).
- Assist in managing the email marketing calendar, ensuring campaigns align with product launches, promotions, and key trading periods.
- Pull dynamic product recommendations, verify product syncs, and ensure accurate pricing, links, tagging, and segmentation.
- Support updates to automated flows (browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post-purchase, etc.).
- Coordinate with creative to ensure timely delivery of assets and copy.
2. Content Creation & Blog Management
- Draft, update, and optimize blog posts aligned with SEO best practices and brand tone.
- Source and optimize images and media assets for blog posts (including alt text, compression, naming, SEO).
- Collaborate with the social media team to support cross-channel promotion of blog content.
- Publish content in Shopify and manage tags, metadata, alt text, and internal linking for SEO and site experience.
3. Digital Asset Coordination & Management
- Serve as the point of contact for digital asset requests across the marketing team.
- Coordinate with creative partners to track, and deliver assets for email, blog, and site needs.
- Maintain and organize the digital asset library, ensuring files are accurately named, tagged, versioned, and easy to retrieve.
- Ensure all marketing assets meet JD brand guidelines and quality standards.
4. E-commerce & Administrative Support
- Perform basic Shopify tasks such as updating landing pages, uploading blog content, and verifying product information for campaigns.
- Assist in cross-checking product statuses and availability in Shopify.
- Maintain and update marketing spreadsheets including content calendars, and campaign trackers.
- Use the Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) to support planning, and cross-team alignment.
- Support the wider digital marketing team on ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, or relevant coursework/internships.
- Experience with Klaviyo or another email/SMS marketing platform is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Shopify or a similar e-commerce CMS.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Excellent written English and verbal communication skills; ability to craft engaging, concise marketing copy.
- Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn and develop new skills.
- Familiarity with SEO is an asset.
