A leading global technology services firm in Georgetown, Ontario is seeking a Desktop Support Technician. This role involves providing onsite support for end users, troubleshooting issues, and managing tickets. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in end-user support and a high school diploma or equivalent. The position requires strong knowledge of the Windows operating system and an A+ certification or similar skill.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Desktop/End User Support Experience.
  • Experience in a plant/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical office requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for end users and manage tickets.
  • Perform troubleshooting and parts replacement.
  • Identify and correct potential issues affecting user experience.
  • Update and resolve tickets to meet Service Levels.

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Georgetown, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada (CA).

This role is to provide onsite support for end users, for tickets and issues at a client site, including management of the regional stockroom. The technician will have the responsibility to own the issues through resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Performs troubleshooting, parts replacement, systems upgrades, deployment and repair on desktops / notebooks printers
  • May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader instructions
  • Identifies potential issues that could adversely impact end user experience and takes corrective action
  • Updates and resolves tickets in a timely manner to achieve Service Levels
  • Utilize a well-rounded knowledge of the policies and procedures for their work area
  • Make policy recommendations to their manager and be an escalation point for less experienced team members
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ Years of Desktop/End User Support Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Additional Preferences
  • Experience in a plant/manufacturing environment
  • Undergraduate degree or some college coursework
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating system environment
  • A+ desktop or equivalent skill set is required
  • Ability to physically perform general office requirements
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Travel including overnight domestic trips may be required
