Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is looking for a d|bar Chef de Cuisine who shares our passion for exceeding guests’ expectations and is keen to learn from and contribute to our Food and Beverage Team! Reporting to the Executive Chef, The d|bar Chef de Cuisine will oversee the F&B outlet, d|bar, in partnership with Michelin star awarded Chef Daniel Boulud and the DINEX group.
d|bar by Chef Daniel Boulud is located in the historic Village of Yorkville, Toronto’s most luxurious shopping and dining district. With an impressive view of Yorkville Avenue, this lively cocktail bar in Toronto is the perfect place for a drink before or after your meal, or make d|bar the evening’s destination and choose from a menu of casual fare that’s ideal for sharing.
The d|bar Chef de Cuisine will plan, organize, control, and direct the work of 10+ employees in the d|bar Culinary Department and will be responsible for outlet food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency. Competencies include strong knowledge on French cuisine, great leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a large team in a busy operation.
The Chef de Cuisine will provide leadership and management for the culinary department by establishing efficient systems and processes to ensure standards as set forth by Four Seasons and DINEX are adhered to. This individual will be responsible to plan, organize, control, and direct the work of employees in the d|bar Culinary Department and for outlet food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency; lead in the planning and development of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation is consistent; maintain control systems which will assure quality and portion consistency; monitor food shipments to meet purchasing specifications; and foster an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality. The Chef de Cuisine will also be responsible for the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees and the Sous Chef in the d|bar Culinary Department.
