The candidate will work together with a multi-disciplinary group to ensure top performance on our wind farms.

The ideal candidate has the ability to work a flexible schedule, on-call, along with the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently. They will provide excellent service to our customers, have the ability to work on complex systems in challenging environments, and participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Responsible for the service, maintenance and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa SG4X wind turbines at our Cypress site near Lomond, Alberta.
• Provide excellent service to our customers by completing services and paperwork on time.
• The work environment entails working inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of ~ 300 feet.
• Extensive training and testing will be provided covering safety and technical job requirements.
• Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated knowledge in electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
• Strong ability to organize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
• Good computer skills, is competent in the use of Microsoft platforms like Outlook and Excel.
• Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver’s License. Must be legally able to work in Canada.

The Cypress team is looking for a technician to join our ranks in servicing our SG4X platform. Extensive training and on-the-job training is provided to be able to improve your skills and development.

• L’environnement de travail exige que le candidat retenu travaille à l’intérieur de la nacelle d’éoliennes à une hauteur d’environ 300 pi.
• Une formation intensive sur la sécurité et les exigences techniques liées au poste sera offerte et suivie d’examens.
• Les exigences physiques du poste comprennent notamment les suivantes : escalader des échelles, monter des marches (au moins 267), se tenir debout pendant de longues périodes, marcher, soulever des charges, effectuer des mouvements de torsion et de flexion, travailler au-dessus des épaules, pousser/tirer, être exposé à des vibrations, à des produits chimiques et à des conditions météorologiques extrêmes, et travailler dans des espaces clos.
• Avoir la capacité d’assumer efficacement des rôles et des responsabilités supplémentaires dans un parc éolien en exploitation.

Ce dont vous avez besoin

• Connaissances éprouvées dans le domaine des systèmes électriques, dont les convertisseurs et la programmation de contrôleurs.
• Capacité démontrée de travailler en équipe de manière sécuritaire et efficace.
• Excellente capacité d’organiser et de prévoir les tâches quotidiennes/hebdomadaires avec un grand souci de qualité, et d’analyser/de résoudre des problèmes de manière autonome en mettant l’accent sur les résultats.
• Bonnes compétences en informatique (logiciels Microsoft, dont Outlook et Excel).
• Admissible à détenir un passeport et un permis de conduire valides; le candidat doit être légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada.
