Summary of Functions

Reporting to the Superintendent, Conservation Parks, a Crew member, Visitor Services for Conservation Parks works in a variety of settings, mostly outdoors. Our main goal is to provide excellent customer service and connect visitors with nature. Crew members, Visitor Services are an integral part of the Conservation Parks team to deliver high-quality park programming, special events and trails and facility maintenance.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work during non-daylight hours.
  • Available to work most weekends and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Currently possesses or is willing to obtain Emergency First Aid, CPR C certification

Summary of Major Tasks

  • Providing visitors with detailed information about our Conservation Areas and surrounding areas from a recreational and educational perspective.
  • Corresponding with staff and visitors via phone, text, or internal communication system.
  • Collecting accurate data, including customer information and postal codes.
  • Operating a point-of-sale system including online and in-person sales, reservations and payments.
  • Safe operation of CVC-owned and operated vehicles and equipment.
  • Trails and facilities maintenance including pruning, trimming, gardening, garbage collection and washroom cleaning.
