Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and meticulous Corporate Accountant to manage our full-cycle accounting operations and support administrative functions across multiple provinces. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can work independently while supporting the directors in maintaining financial and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, and customer follow-ups
- Prepare and review payroll, T4 slips, ROEs, and ensure compliance with provincial regulations
- Set up and submit tax payments (payroll remittances, PST, GST, corporate income tax) and assist with WCB reporting for BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger, trial balances, and all accounts with supporting documentation
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and adjustments
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and ensure data integrity across departments
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and cost saving opportunities
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support decision making
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial financial regulations/laws, and CPA Canada Handbook standards.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
- Manage vendor and customer accounts, credit applications, and account updates
- Organize accounting records for audits and maintain orderly filing systems
- Support business licencing compliance
- Coordinate technician travel arrangements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring cash flow
- Advise senior management on financial risks, investments, and strategic planning
- Contribute to other operational areas as needed within a small business environment
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting preferred
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential
- Familiarity with ClockShark, SAP Ariba, CARM client portal, and RBC Express is an asset
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations and provincial compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 suite
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA designation or working toward CPA designation
Pay
Pay: CA$52,000.00-CA$71,000.00 per year
