Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of pumps, compressors, and other production equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during operations.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies including equipment failures.
  • Work closely with field operators, engineers, and management.

Job Function

Location: Christina Lake AB (CAMP POSITION)

Target Start Date: January 13 2025

Contract Length: 1 year potential for extension

Work Schedule: 8 days on 6 days off rotation.

84hrs/week.

Rotating day/night shift.

6-hour days on day 1 and 8 12-hour days day 2-7.

Tues‑Tues.

FIFO Camp Accommodations Provided.

Rates:
  • T4: $46–54.95
  • IC: $53–63
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and Monitor Equipment: Oversee the operation of pumps, compressors and other production equipment. Ensure all machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in safety meetings.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment. Report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
  • Data Collection: Record and analyze production data. Use this information to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Ensure all operations comply with environmental regulations. Participate in initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies including equipment failures and environmental incidents. Participate in emergency response drills.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other field operators, engineers and management to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively and provide support as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum Alberta 4th Class Power Engineering ticket; 3rd Class preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications: Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS) are required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment. Must be able to work on a rotating shift schedule.
