Responsibilities
- Supervise workers and projects
- Co-ordinate and schedule activities
- Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions
- Estimate costs and materials
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
- Leading/instructing individuals
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Establish work schedules and procedures
- Ensure that construction permits are obtained
- Complete reports on product inspection
- Co-ordinate work activities with other departments
- Review and evaluate commercial or industrial development proposals
- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Construction site supervision
- Consult with government regulatory and licensing agencies to ensure conformance to provincial standards
- Plan and organize construction projects
- Coordinate work activities to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets
