Overview

We are seeking a talented and hands-on Communications Specialist to join Hitachi Energy’s High Voltage Products global communications team. This entry-level role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic communications initiatives and content development, supporting internal and external engagement across digital platforms and internal channels. The position reports to the Global Media, Content, and Campaigns Manager, based in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and execution of internal and external communication initiatives, including editorial support for web, intranet, and social media channels.
  • Support development and optimization of multimedia content, including feature stories, blogs, customer success stories, and internal news, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with senior communications specialists, business unit leaders, and global communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
  • Write, edit, and proofread a variety of content such as articles, letters, announcements, and other communications materials.
  • Maintain and update the business unit’s intranet and internet content to enhance internal information flow, promote business activities, and encourage engagement.
  • Create high-quality visual content including presentations, infographics, and branded visuals to enhance messaging across channels.
  • Contribute to internal engagement campaigns, employer branding initiatives, and high-impact communications projects.
  • Support key events and exhibitions in close collaboration with communications and / or marketing teams.
  • Back up for the preparation of organizational announcements and updating global organizational charts.
  • Manage content calendars, oversee deliverables, and ensure timely updates and progress tracking with internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); video editing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content trends.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, remote team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
