Position Summary

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Commercial Account Representative is a crucial team member of Avenir Energy. The successful candidate will demonstrate industry‑leading outside sales management skills to maximize revenue by creating, managing and implementing best‑in‑class sales development activities, acquiring/maintaining new accounts as well as retaining existing accounts to maximize growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve commercial sales and margin sales targets for the Commercial Propane business with approximately 80% of time prospecting for new business and 20% managing existing business.
  • Work closely with operations and support functions to facilitate solutions for the customer.
  • Track volumes, numbers and margins by reviewing sales reports.
  • Keep up‑to‑date and maintain understanding of propane codes, transportation tank regulations, federal and provincial guidelines for tank and petroleum storage and the company safety regulation.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including preparing expense and commission reports using Excel.
  • Willingness to travel with some overnights required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 3 or more years of commercial sales experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Formal sales training, either on the job or in formal courses.
  • Industry and product‑specific knowledge of propane an asset.
  • Results‑oriented, good attitude to prospect and identify opportunities for success.
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service is required.
  • Flexible, goal‑oriented, time management and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
