Columbia Icefield Jasper AB Facilities Maintenance

Overview

The Facilities Maintenance role provides assistance for all maintenance-related requests associated with the Glacier Discovery Centre, Glacier View Lodge, Glacier Skywalk and Icefield staff accommodation. This is a seasonal, full-time position in Jasper, AB for Spring/Summer 2025, with a starting wage of $21 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Performing daily maintenance checks
• Completing repairs within scope of experience/skill
• Following up on maintenance requests
• Participating in seasonal opening and closing procedures
• Booking and coordinating contractors
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
• Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated
• Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
• Previous plumbing, electrical, building and carpentry experience preferred
• Class 5 driver’s license (unrestricted), required
• Standard First Aid Certification, required (or willing to obtain prior to beginning work)
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and capable of manual duties
• Proven ability to complete minor building repairs to proper building standards/codes
• Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
• Dependable, self-motivated and able to work autonomously
• Employee and public relations skills and a friendly/cooperative nature
• Must enjoy working outdoors, even in challenging mountain weather conditions
• Internally motivated with a consistently high level of energy; ability to take initiative
• Attention to detail
• Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods, indoors and outdoors; prepared for all weather conditions
• Must meet grooming and appearance standards
• Consent to a criminal record check
