Role

The Client Executive, Mining & Energy is responsible for developing and managing client relationships within the mining, power and energy sectors. The role focuses on business development, account management, and delivering tailored risk and insurance solutions. Working closely with producers, technical specialists and brokers, the Client Executive ensures the effective execution of strategies that support growth, client satisfaction and retention.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage a book of existing clients within the mining, power and energy sectors
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, delivering a high standard of service delivery and issue resolution
  • Being able to multi-task between moving deadlines while managing client expectations
  • Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, prospects and key industry stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal sales producers to develop and execute business development strategies, identify new business opportunities, and generate leads through networking and referrals
  • Support producers in client management, networking, and business development activities
  • Participate in client meetings, sales presentations, and negotiations
  • Identify and pursue cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities with existing accounts
  • Conduct risk assessments and coverage reviews; recommend tailored insurance solutions
  • Gather and analyze data on potential markets, clients and sales opportunities
  • Support clients through the claims process when required
  • Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in insurance industry, ideally with exposure to large commercial or resource‑sector clients
  • Insurance license required; RIBO, CIP, CRM or related designations are considered assets
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of insurance products, policies, and regulations
  • Proven ability to manage and grow client accounts
  • Self‑motivated and team‑oriented, with strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Curious and eager to learn, with a strong desire to continuously improve and expand industry knowledge and skills
  • Proficient with insurance management software such as EPIC
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Results‑driven, customer‑focused, with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
