Overview

As a property and casualty insurance claims advisor, you help serve and maintain business relationships with members and clients for all claims. You handle medium-complexity property insurance claims and low-complexity accident benefit and bodily injury claims. You investigate and approve claims. You solve problems using your analytical skills and discipline-specific knowledge. You draw on your sound decision-making to develop solutions, negotiate claims settlements and enter into agreements with members, clients and others. You assist members, clients and practitioners. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations and inspections to assess damage, estimate costs and market value, and produce and review reports and other documents to determine settlement amounts.
  • Analyze medical, financial and job information and determine eligibility for benefits based on statutory criteria.
  • Settle claims in accordance with the organization’s standards, policies and quality commitments as well as the contract terms. Meet deadlines to ensure client satisfaction and avoid penalties.
  • Negotiate with all parties involved to ensure smooth claims processing.
