Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ability to contribute positively as a team member while also working independently.
  • Flexible, teachable, and adaptable to a variety of tasks.
  • Honest, punctual, and able to represent The Salvation Army in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Willingness and ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks to the satisfaction of The Salvation Army (including Criminal Record Check and Abuse Registry Check).
  • Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army in Canada.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills; experience with software such as Link2Feed, Jotform, or other databases considered an asset (training provided).
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
Supervision

Reports to the Community and Family Services Program Director (or designate).

Service Responsibilities
  • Assist with Christmas Assistance Program registrations, including processing applications, entering data, and providing client support in person, by phone, and online.
  • Provide information to clients regarding eligibility, documentation, and program processes.
  • Support the organization and distribution of toys, food, and gift cards
  • Assist with volunteer support during Christmas events, including welcoming, orienting, and supporting volunteers as needed.
  • Participate in the setup, maintenance, and cleanup of Christmas program spaces, donation areas, and distribution centers.
  • Support administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and filing paperwork.
  • Contribute to donation intake, sorting, and inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the overall Christmas Program.
Hours of Work

Hours of Work: 8:30-4PM (M-F), with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Flexibility required. October 20 - December 31, 2025.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $15.70 to $16.90 with a maximum of $20.28.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
