A mental health service organization in Calgary seeks a temporary full-time Educational Child and Youth Care Counsellor. Children’s Village School (CVS) is operated as a partnership between the Calgary Board of Education and Hull Services. The therapeutic programming offered is designed to meet the complex learning, social, and emotional needs of elementary school-aged children. These students’ severe emotional and behavioral difficulties in their current school, community and home have created significant barriers to their ability to successfully engage in learning. Educational program content includes a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, self-regulation, and social skills. Class sizes range from 6 to 8 students, depending on the grade level and complexity of learner profiles. Each classroom is staffed with one Teacher and two Educational Child and Youth Care Counsellors.
Children’s Village School is looking for a temporary full time Educational Child and Youth Care Counsellor. A candidate with a versatile skill set to work with either our regular elementary classrooms supporting students with complex needs and/or the specialized – Enhanced Educational Support (EES) classrooms supporting children with developmental delays, behavioral and mental health challenges.
This position is based on a 40-hour work week following the 10.5 months annual schedule ending December 2026. The hours of work are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
