About the Operation

An underground gold mine in the Red Lake district is ramping up production and building a high-performing technical team. The project is fully permitted, with infrastructure in place and strong growth potential.

Role Overview

The Chief Mine Engineer is a daily critical leadership role in the Technical Services team, responsible for mine planning, scheduling, and reporting as the operation ramps up. The role demands narrow vein underground gold experience and the ability to lead, mentor, and build a capable engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering team across planning, scheduling, ground control, ventilation, and reporting.
  • Develop and deliver Life-of-Mine, annual, and short / mid-term mine plans.
  • Ensure designs align to narrow vein mining methods and economic ore extraction.
  • Deliver budgets, forecasts, and technical reports to site leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with geology, operations, and maintenance teams to optimize mine performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers, surveyors, and technical staff.
  • Provide input on capital projects and infrastructure development.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligibility in Ontario.
  • Underground narrow vein gold mining experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or chief role.
  • Advanced technical planning and reporting skills (Deswik or equivalent).
  • Proven leadership and mentoring ability.
  • Start-up / restart mine experience strongly preferred.
