Position Summary
Kelowna General Hospital’s Physiotherapy team is seeking a casual Certified Hand Therapist – Physiotherapist to provide relief coverage within the dynamic and supportive department. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a flexible role. Casual means that hours are not guaranteed and may vary depending on operational need. Shifts may be Monday to Friday: 08:00-16:00, 08:30-16:30 and 09:00-13:00.

About the position:

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization; and in accordance with professional standards as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC), and following guidelines developed by third party agencies (such as Workers’ Compensation Board’s specific contract guidelines for a Hand Therapy Program), this position develops, plans, organizes, and implements a comprehensive Hand Therapy program. Utilizing clinical best practice and a goal-directed, evidence-based approach, this position is responsible for assessing and developing comprehensive treatment plans for referred clients including Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) clients with hand and upper extremity dysfunction using appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an approved program of Physical Therapy
• Full registration as a Physical Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Physical Therapy.
• Current Hand Therapy Certification with the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
• Minimum of two (2) years' recent, related experience (which includes at least one (1) year's experience in splinting/hand therapy) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
