A community health organization in Fort Erie is hiring a CPNP Coordinator to promote the health and wellness of Indigenous mothers and their babies through culturally sensitive prenatal and postnatal services. The role involves developing programs, providing counseling, and facilitating access to cultural supports. Candidates should have a 2-year diploma in a relevant field and knowledge of Indigenous culture. This position offers $21.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience, with expected hours of 40 per week.
The CPNP Coordinator is responsible for promoting the health and wellness of Indigenous mothers and their babies through culturally sensitive prenatal and postnatal services. This role provides holistic care, nutrition education, counselling, and access to traditional teachings. The CPNP Coordinator supports healthy pregnancies and early child development by creating a safe and welcoming space for at-risk Indigenous mothers and their infants.
A 2-year College Diploma in Nutrition, Health Promotion, Social Service Work, Indigenous Studies, or a related field. Previous experience in a similar role is an asset. Knowledge of Indigenous culture and local communities. Experience in a not-for-profit setting is an asset. Must have or be able to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (CPIC). Must hold a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
Knowledge of traditional foods, teachings, and practices related to pregnancy and child-rearing. Familiarity with trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches. Critical thinking and solution-focused approach. Strong listening and advocacy skills. Program Development & Facilitation. Case Management abilities, and follow through. Confidentiality, attention to detail, and time management.
