Part-Time Security Guard

Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), 6100 Leslie St, North York, ON M2H 3J1

Hours

Saturday and Sunday (1100 - 2300)

Pay

$18.25 per hour

Overtime

Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Be able to comprehend and demonstrate competencies of CMCC and the Security policies and procedures with a customer service approach
• Be able to keep an open and objective mind, remembering the city’s diverse community
• Assist visitors and employees during crises and contact the necessary emergency services as needed
• Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly
• Enthusiastically conduct proactive patrols (exterior and interior), address policy breeches, and note facility concerns
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner to avoid panicking the public
• De-escalate crises, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedics
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
• Provide first aid and medical response when required
• Maintain positive relationships with the Client’s staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support
• Perform duties and tasks as directed by the Security Leadership team and the client
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Prerequisites

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• English (oral and written) fluency
• Minimum of 1 year of security experience
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or opt into Paladin\'s training program prior to onboarding
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
