A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Drafter/Designer in Nuclear to join its Ontario team. You will design and model for cutting-edge nuclear facilities and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates have a diploma in Engineering Technology and expertise in various design tools. Our team offers a wide range of services, including technical and feasibility studies, project management, detailed design, procurement, site management, quality surveillance, commissioning and asset management. This division is operating at an exciting time as nuclear power and new technology solutions are developing globally, with Canada as a leader in nuclear refurbishments, nuclear new builds, incredible capital projects portfolios and a deep history in nuclear supply chain.
WSP is currently seeking an experienced Drafter/Designer, Nuclear to join one of our Ontario offices. Several projects will potentially require travel to Tiverton, Ontario, Toronto Ontario, Saint John, New Brunswick, Pickering and Oshawa, Ontario.

Become a champion in administering and supporting cutting-edge Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms
Showcase your drafting, designing, and modeling prowess across mechanical, civil, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines for some of the most advanced nuclear power plants and world-class facilities
Collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of innovative engineers who are shaping the future of infrastructure
What you’ll bring to WSP:
Diploma in Architectural, Mechanical, Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering Technology (or equivalent).
At least 5 years experience in a similar role, ideally within nuclear.
Proficiency in one or more 2D/3D design packages such as: AVEVA (PDMS) E3D Design, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Enterprise, AVEVA Point Cloud Manager
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Electrical, Raster Design, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, BIM Collaborate, SolidWorks, SharePoint, Solid Edge
CATIA, MicroStation, Intergraph SmartPlant Review, Bentley ProStructures
Knowledge of using 3D laser scanning equipment while doing field walkdowns and post processing of associated point cloud data to support brown field design projects would be an asset.
Experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) is required.
Expertise in Structural design of steel and concrete structures, connections, shop drawings and fabrication detailing, Piping isometrics, piping modeling, and pipe support design, Flow diagrams (P&ID & PFDs), and electrical/instrumentation wiring diagrams, Mechanical details of machine(s) and similar components, Electrical design of stations, single line and wiring diagrams
Good understanding of Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements and applicable industry design standards is considered an asset.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications, such as CSA, ASME, ASTM, ACI guides.
