Overview

The Department of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care is seeking suitably qualified candidates to join the Benefits Administration Unit as a Benefits Adjudicator.

CL4 Clerk 4, Regular/full-time, Winnipeg, MB. Salary: CL4 $55,472.00 - $64,777.00 per year. Closing Date: October 14, 2025. Employment Equity is a factor in selection; consideration will be given to Indigenous people and persons with disabilities. An eligibility list will be created for similar positions and for different locations, lasting 12 months, pending appropriate staffing approval.

Responsibilities

The Benefits Adjudicator is responsible for independent assessment, evaluation and adjudication of complex claims submitted by pharmacists and other health service providers and applications submitted by Manitobans for remuneration, in accordance with The Health Services Insurance Act (HSIA), The Prescription Drugs Cost Assistance Act, the Manitoba Drug Benefits and Interchangeability Formularies, and the Drug Program Information Network (DPIN) Pharmacy Manual.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Customer service experience with an ability to communicate with the public in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and policies, and determining eligibility to various programs.
  • Experience performing accurate data entry, as well as processing and verifying information.
  • Pharmacy Technician certificate/diploma or experience working in a pharmacy technician role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

  • Experience submitting claims in Manitoba’s DPIN system
