Canadian Forces (CF) Messes retain a functional role as social and dining clubs, and are the center of social life for units, stations bases and ships. They enhance the esprit de corps of units, lighten the load of demanding day-to-day work, give commanders an opportunity to meet socially with their troops, and enable CF members of all ranks to create bonds of friendship and better working relations through an atmosphere of good fellowship.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Mess Manager, plan, organize, monitor, and evaluate the operations of all mess activities and facilities.
  • Enforce health, hygiene, safety, and security standards and programs.
  • Ensure strict enforcement of provincial liquor legislation and DND, CF, and Unit policies concerning the responsible serving of alcohol, employee drinking restrictions, and customer behavior.
  • Evaluate and recommend staff requirements for functions and oversee the protocol, table settings and arrangements, seating plans, special menus, and beverage requirements for the dining room.

  • Employment: Permanent Full-Time
  • Hours: up to 75 hours bi-weekly; some evenings and weekends required
  • Salary Range: $58,620 - $69,010 per year (based on previous experience)
  • Start Date: Approximately October 20, 2025
