Job summary

A local law firm in Richmond is seeking an Articled Student / Law Student to support their lawyers and staff. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, trial preparation, and conducting research. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree from a Commonwealth country and strong interpersonal skills. This is a full-time in-person position offering a challenging and rewarding work environment.

Qualifications

  • Preference for applicants who are NCA Candidates.
  • Familiarity with civil litigation and family law cases is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting correspondences, pleadings, and applications.
  • Preparing Chambers applications and discoveries.
  • Trial preparation and attending all levels of the Courts.
  • Conducting legal, policy, and general research.
  • Interacting with clients.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting correspondences, pleadings, and applications;
  • Preparing Chambers applications and discoveries;

Qualifications
  • Our preference for the Articled / Law Student position will be given to applicants who have obtained Juris Doctor degree qualifications in Commonwealth countries and are NCA Candidates;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good attention to detail;
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task and work well under pressure;
  • Ability to work well in a team; and
  • Familiarity and experience with civil litigation and family law cases would be an asset.
