Overview

Position Summary: We are hiring for a reliable and experienced Casual Aquatic Therapist with full-time availability to support the Physiotherapy program at the Kelowna General Hospital. This position works Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 15:30.

Responsibilities
  • The Aquatic Therapist plans, develops, implements, modifies and evaluates an overall program for aquatic services for individuals and groups at Kelowna General Hospital.
  • Monitors maintenance of pool facilities; ensures safety and hygiene in the pool area in accordance with the Public Health Act and Interior Health’s Standardized Process and Procedures; develops education strategies to promote aquatic services as a component of patients with acute physical therapy programs.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, Health and Exercises Sciences, Recreation Therapy or Physical Education.
  • Current CPR (Level C).
  • Six months recent related experience in a supervisory role in an aquatic setting.
  • Specialized training in adapted aquatics and aquatic therapy techniques.
  • Successful completion of the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor award; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
