- Apply medicinal substances to control and prevent diseases
- Incorporate biosecurity measures into daily operation
- Supervise staff
- Train staff
- Design and construct pens, floating stations and collector strings or fences for sea farms
- Scuba dive to inspect sea farm operations
- Coordinate selection and maintenance of brood stock
- Collect and record data
- Determine food requirements and structure feeding regimes
- Establish inventory and quality control methods
- Establish marketing programs
- Identify diseases or parasites
- Maintain financial records
- Manage and train aquaculture and fish hatchery support workers and supervise technicians and technologists
- Manage fish hatchery, fish farm or other aquatic farm
- Monitor environment and maintain optimum conditions
- Operate and maintain harvesting and cultivating equipment
- Oversee preparation of site for species cultivation
