Overview

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M1 / M2 — Location: Kitchener / Waterloo Airport (CYKF), ON • Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
  • Aircraft Maintenance & Inspections: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs in compliance with Transport Canada regulations and company policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Maintain and update aircraft technical records per Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
  • Parts & Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, receiving, and stock organization per Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM).
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay current with Transport Canada requirements and industry standards.
  • Facility & Equipment Upkeep: Maintain hangar, tools, and company equipment in a secure and organized manner.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Support and mentor Apprentice AMEs, fostering technical development.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in maintenance operations.
  • Coordination & Travel: Collaborate with the operations team on scheduling and travel for off-site inspections or repairs.
Qualifications
  • Valid Transport Canada AME License (M1 required; M2 an asset).
  • 5+ years licensed experience preferred.
  • Proven expertise with Piper Navajos and light commuter aircraft.
  • Strong background in piston engine maintenance (structural / avionics an asset).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and digital record-keeping systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices and leading maintenance activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to OH&S and regulatory compliance.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
