Job description

We are seeking an AI Specialist with strong computer vision expertise to support a new initiative focused on automating the identification, profiling, and behavior analysis .

You’ll work closely with cross-functional technical and scientific teams to develop a scalable solution that will serve as the foundation for a national marine monitoring platform.

Design and implement computer vision models to detect and classify fish species and behaviors in underwater video.

Process both annotated and unannotated video datasets to prepare data pipelines.

Train, test, and evaluate deep learning models for object detection and activity recognition.

Collaborate with marine scientists and software developers to integrate AI models into broader platform architecture.

Support deployment on cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).

Required Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with recent computer vision and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV).

Strong knowledge of video analysis, object detection, and multi-class classification.

Experience developing end-to-end ML solutions, from data prep to deployment.

Comfortable working with both annotated and unlabelled video data.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
