Job Summary

Maritime Business College (MBC) is hiring an Admissions Officer to support student recruitment and enrolment at our Halifax campus. This role is ideal for someone with experience in education, admissions, or student services who enjoys working directly with prospective students in a regulated career college environment.

You will guide students from initial inquiry through enrolment while ensuring compliance with Nova Scotia Private Career College (PCC) regulations and delivering a high-quality student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to student inquiries via phone, email, walk-ins, and online leads
  • Conduct admissions interviews and provide accurate program information
  • Assess applicant eligibility and program fit
  • Guide students through applications, documentation, and enrolment contracts
  • Maintain accurate and compliant student records
  • Ensure admissions processes follow PCC regulations and institutional policies
  • Coordinate with academic and operations teams for onboarding and class readiness
  • Support open houses, info sessions, and outreach activities
  • Track leads, follow-ups, and enrolment outcomes
Qualifications
Required
  • Experience in admissions, student services, education, or customer-facing roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and student-focused
Preferred
  • Experience in a Private Career College (PCC) environment
  • Knowledge of Nova Scotia PCC regulations
  • Experience working with domestic and/or international students
  • Familiarity with CRM or admissions tracking systems
