JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s accounting activities. She / he is responsible for performing tasks related to accounting operations, payroll, and compliance with the requirements of the Commission de la Construction du Québec (CCQ).
Responsibilities
- Perform data entry and bookkeeping (supplier invoices, client invoices, receipts, disbursements)
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Prepare and post monthly and year-end accounting entries
- Assist in preparing financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Produce government reports (GST / QST, DAS, CNESST, tax slips, etc.)
- Verify, organize, and archive accounting documents according to established procedures
- Participate in budget preparation and monitoring
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards
- Support the administrative team with management tasks (RRSP, insurance, projects)
- Review and invoice water well and geothermal projects
- Produce and send account statements
- Reconcile credit card statements
- Perform month-end adjustments and closings
- Perform year-end closing procedures
- Monitor employee commissions
- Provide project-related documents (claims, receipts, etc.)
- Contribute to the improvement of accounting and administrative processes
- Respond to information requests from auditors, managers, or external partners
Qualifications
- Education: College diploma
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience; construction-related experience is an asset
- Technical Skills: Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Strong knowledge of accounting software (Acomba is an asset); Good understanding of accounting principles
- Languages: Excellent command of French (oral and written) and functional English

Working Conditions
- Schedule: Full-time, day shift (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
- Salary: $25.25 – $35.36 / hr
