Job Details

Under the Principal's guidance, the Early Childhood Educator will work with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver a full-day learning program. They will supervise and implement age‑appropriate activities for students in the extended day program as needed. The Educator will collaborate in creating programs and environments that support children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Education full‑day Early Learning Program.
  • Childcare experience in an educational setting preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff, and the public.
  • Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Experience in planning and implementing age‑appropriate programs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program.
  • Must be able to physically assist children as required (e.g. lifting, bending, crouching, reaching, etc.).
  • Assist children in washroom routines, dressing, toileting, lunchtime activities.
Qualifications
  • Two‑year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma.
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
