Principal Objectives of the Position:
We are seeking an E/I Technician to test, certify, install, inspect, repair, and maintain instrumentation systems on mining equipment and facilities, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test and record the effects of varying conditions, actual or simulated.
Prepare graphs and written reports, translating test results into meaningful terms.
Select, install, and calibrate metering and recording instruments and circuits.
Develop specifications for nonstandard apparatus and equipment.
Verify the acceptability of devices fabricated by craft workers or other technical personnel.
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
Train employees and advise them on proper procedures to avoid equipment breakdowns.
The ideal candidate will have:
A NATIN diploma in Electrotechniek or an equivalent technical qualification.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mine production environment with practical skills in construction, troubleshooting, and repair.
Solid knowledge of electrical trade practices, including the use of tools, materials, and safety procedures.
The ability to read, write, and understand basic mathematics, as well as follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English, Dutch is an asset.
A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
A willingness to work on a 14-day on/7-day off rotational schedule in Brokopondo.
