A prominent e-commerce organization seeks a Transportation Specialist to oversee the flow of information between various stakeholders, ensuring timely pick-up and delivery of freight. This role involves extensive communication and real-time decision-making to enhance customer experience in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should hold a relevant degree and possess strong skills in Excel and SQL. This position is key to maintaining operational excellence and improving process efficiencies in a 24/7 operational setting.
ROC (Relay Operations Center) is the centralized command and control center for ‘Transportation Execution’ across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting multiple geographies like NA, EU, India, Mexico, Brazil etc. It ensures hassle free, timely pick‑up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, ROC steps in to resolve the issues by keeping the stakeholders informed on the proceedings. Along with this tactical problem solving ROC is also charged with understanding trends in network exceptions and then automating processes or proposing process changes to streamline operations. This second aspect involves network monitoring and significant analysis of network data.
Overall, ROC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon’s ability to serve its customers on time.
A Transportation Specialist at ROC facilitates flow of information between different stakeholders (Trans Carriers/Hubs/Warehouses) and resolves any potential issues that impacts customer experience and business continuity. The role works across two verticals – inbound and outbound operations. Inbound operations deals with vendor/carrier/FC relationships, ensuring that freight is picked‑up on time and delivered at FC as per the given appointment. Outbound operations deals with FC/Carrier/Carrier Hub relationships, ensuring that the truck leaves the FC in order to deliver customer orders as per promise. The Specialist provides timely resolution by researching and querying internal tools and by taking real‑time decisions, driving customer experience without compromising on time, and ideating process improvements.
