Key Responsibilities:

Senior Instrumentation Engineer

We are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer with extensive experience in instrumentation utilized for the final control, monitoring and safety of Gas Plants, NGL Fractionation Plants, Refineries, petrochemicals plants, Pipelines and Distribution facilities, to join the Process Automation and Systems Division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support with all types of instrumentation including level, temperature, pressure, control valves, emergency isolation valves, motor operated valves, relief valves, flow measurement, level gauges, etc.
• Originate and carry out engineering studies to determine optimal solutions to complex technical problems, increase revenue, reduce cost, and improve process safety.
• Work with and/or lead task teams assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific technical problems.
• Undertake special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.
• Develop and maintain Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, Material Specifications, Procedures, and Best Practices to enhance company profitability, safety, and productivity.
• Review and evaluate capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services to Saudi Aramco.
• Act as a company representative in technical dealings with vendors, manufacturers, and design firms.

Qualifications:

• Must have experience in plant instrumentation sizing and selection (control valves, pressure relief valves, actuators, basic process measurement, etc.).
• Certified in ISA‑Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), TUV FSEng, Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) certification, or Chartered Engineer (C.E.) license or registration.
• Basic knowledge of H2S, LEL, pH, conductivity, O2 analyzer, CO/CO2 analyzer, fire & gas detectors and gas chromatographs is preferred.
• Proficiency in international codes and standards used within the oil and gas industry (API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.).
• Have participated as lead engineer in HAZOP, SIL, P&ID, design, and model reviews.
• Understanding of control systems, compressor and pumps field instrumentation, speed controllers, vibration monitoring systems (VMS), compressor control systems (CCS).
• Understanding communication protocols like DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, TCP, IEC, SPA, RP570, ANSI and general process automation protocols.
• Have been an active member in a relevant professional society (ISA, IEEE, etc.) for a minimum of 3 years and hold current membership.
