The Work You'll Do:

As a Software Engineer II at Sovos, you'll be an integral part of our SAP development team, building and enhancing solutions that help businesses worldwide navigate complex tax compliance requirements. With 2-4 years of experience, you'll operate as an effective individual contributor while also mentoring junior team members and driving technical excellence across the team.

You'll work with cutting‑edge SAP technologies and collaborate with global teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions. This role offers the opportunity to grow your technical expertise, contribute to meaningful projects, and help shape the future of tax compliance technology.

More specifically, you will:

• Facilitate Sovos SDLC meetings and apply process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kanban, and XP
• Coach and mentor junior developers, leading them on shared stories and tasks
• Develop high‑quality code consistent with Sovos conventions and accepted coding best practices, including design patterns
• Draft designs and documentation for major functionality
• Refine and improve development tools including IDEs, Jenkins, and test harnesses
• Interact with internal stakeholders and customers around requirements, issues, and other common matters
• Triage and resolve customer escalations independently
• Identify impediments and play an active role in their resolution
• Share technical knowledge with team members and help them identify, elaborate, and solve problems
• Analyze and resolve complex problems while communicating technical concepts clearly

What We Need From You:

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of software development experience
• Experience with SAP technologies and integration
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Ability to work effectively in a global, distributed team environment
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
