Scope
Senior executive officer responsible for the overall management and legal representation of the company in Brazil, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, alignment with group strategy, and sound governance, risk and control frameworks. Acts as the company's legal representative alongside other three directors before public authorities, regulators, financial institutions and key partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate management: lead the implementation of the business plan in Brazil, follow HQ priorities and ensure operational and financial targets are met.
- Legal representation: act as the company's legal representative before the Central Bank of Brazil and other regulators, tax authorities, courts, financial institutions, partners and suppliers, signing contracts, powers of attorney and corporate documents.
- Regulatory relationship: maintain a constructive and transparent relationship with Brazilian regulators and self-regulatory bodies, including responding to inspections, official inquiries and information requests.
- Financial stewardship: approve budgets according to HQ instructions, monitor cash flow, capital and liquidity needs, and ensure timely and accurate financial data according to the finance team and regulatory reporting.
- People and culture: build and lead the local leadership team, promote an ethical culture, and ensure adherence to the company's code of conduct and policies, acting in a horizontal relationship alongside officers responsible for AML / CFT, Internal Controls & Compliance, and Risk, Capital & Disclosure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience, with solid background in financial services, payments, fintech and / or crypto, including prior experience in leadership or management roles.
- Strong understanding of the Brazilian regulatory landscape applicable to the business (Central Bank of Brazil, COAF and, where relevant, CVM and other authorities).
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field; an MBA or similar is a plus.
- Proven leadership, stakeholder‑management and decision‑making skills, with a hands‑on, ownership mindset.
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
- Must be resident in Brazil.
Disqualifying Factors
- No disqualifying factors as described below: I — not to be barred by special law, nor convicted of bankruptcy crimes, tax evasion, malfeasance, active or passive bribery, extortion, embezzlement, crimes against the popular economy, public faith, property, or the National Financial System, nor sentenced to a penalty that prohibits, even temporarily, access to public office;
- II — not to have been declared disqualified or suspended from serving in statutory or contractual bodies at institutions authorized to operate by the Central Bank of Brazil or at pension entities, insurance companies, capitalization companies, publicly held companies, or entities subject to the supervision of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM);
- III — not to have been declared bankrupt or insolvent;
- IV — unblemished reputation;
- V — knowledge of the line of business, the services to be provided and the crypto segment, as well as crypto market dynamics and the risks associated with those activities;
- VI — technical capability, compatible with the functions to be exercised.
