Lead Coupa Architect – Source to Pay @ Remote, USA
Position Summary
As part of the Digital Core Transformation team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of Coupa and surrounding system (SAP S4Hana) capabilities supporting Procurement business processes. We’re looking for someone who has experience supporting teams, project management, and values strong vendor partnerships. Responsibilities
- Lead solutions design for Coupa, configuration, documentation, testing, and delivery with intelligent automation (scope includes work among SAP and non‑SAP systems and applications).
- Excellent technical & functional configuration knowledge and demonstrated proficiency for SAP Source to Pay, inclusive of Smart Contract Management, Spend Analytics, Guided Buying, and Collaborative Supply Chain & Procurement Materials Management, Materials Management (Direct and Indirect).
- Participate in gathering and documenting overall business requirements. Support all formal documentation of implementation and provide relevant functional inputs to the technical team.
- Configure and implement Coupa solutions for source to pay processes, including global Coupa configuration, approval workflow, custom field set‑up for transactions, chart of accounts, PO forms, catalog, supplier, item, user setup, security roles and permissions as per business requirement.
- Experience in Coupa configuration and data loads in sourcing, contracting, purchasing, invoicing master data (supplier, materials and accounting data) and catalog management.
- Experience with Coupa integration and mapping to legacy SAP systems for transactional and master data interface in source to pay.
- Create functional specification documents that require development of WRICEF (Workflow, Reports, Interfaces, Conversion, Enhancement, and Forms) objects.
- Prepare test cases, validate deliverables, and support client testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Responsible for solving complex business problems by creating IT solutions in consultation with business partners, architects and other stakeholders.
- Operate in close partnership with the IT and business communities, subject‑matter experts, external consultants, cross‑functional teams, add‑ons, etc.
- Advise business partners on the implications of standard or new SAP solutions that can be applied to a problem.
- Create and execute outcome‑oriented strategies and build/sustain meaningful business relationships.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8‑10 years IT experience – in end‑user industry, IT consulting, systems integrators, or with IT product.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on procurement transformations at an enterprise scale.
- A degree in engineering from a premier institution or chartered accountancy.
- Post‑graduate diploma/MBA with specialization in finance and/or IT from a premier institution (preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years configuration experience in Coupa/SAP S4 HANA Source to Pay, procurement, materials management.
- Experience in IT capabilities for other functional areas e.g. supply chain/logistics, order‑to‑cash, finance is desirable.
- Must have worked in configuration, testing, and implementation of Coupa.
- Participated in multiple full‑cycle global SAP implementations, with a focus on analytics‑led business transformation.
- Experience in IT capabilities for other functional areas e.g. supply chain/logistics, order‑to‑cash, procurement is desirable.
- Coupa with SAP S/4 HANA global implementation experience or equivalent next‑generation business transformation implementation.

- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; must be a constructive challenger/assertive.
- Experience in creating/reviewing functional specifications for custom enhancements.
