The Job

In this role, you will be responsible for developing product strategies to drive growth and profitability (cost / spec-to-market) for Hardlines Categories (Sockets, Wrenches, Sets, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Hex Keys, Torque Wrenches) under STANLEY / BDK (this business currently makes $44m yearly and is expected to present aggressive growth rates in the next years) Brands across LAG region.

Increase vitality rate, by managing short- and long-term roadmaps according to the end-user needs, supporting POP material and content creation, in cooperation with commercialization team and leading cross-functional initiatives through the Product Development Process.

General Responsibilities
  • Execute New Product Development projects, facilitating a cross functional team to develop detailed action plans to drive new products through the organization, according to the region legal requirements.
  • Gain relevant understanding of legal requirement of assigned categories.
  • Create Innovation within product lines.
  • Identify and execute plans to deliver productivity in the category.
  • Develop and execute a product line strategy for assigned category / brand.
  • Responsible for assisting Global teams in delivering new products.
  • Collaborate in building financial analysis (ROC - Return On Capital) for Potential New Products.
  • Closely collaborate in developing SKU creation and all marketing materials, including packaging, presentations, merchandising, and other collaterals to commercially launch new products.
  • Support in the construction and maintenance of the Product Information Management (PIM) Platform for the related categories.
  • Collaborate in end‑user research of New Product Development projects, and work with engineers to ensure successful translation of end‑user insights to products / solutions.
  • Conduct field tests for new product development projects.
  • Gain deep understanding of the market, consumer, competitors to support product strategy aligned with needs of end users and customers.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of competitors' products, comparing them to our own offerings, to influence the development of new product features and to create a compelling value proposition, key messages on how to outperform competitors.
  • Actively engage with in‑country product marketing to ensure successful product launch execution.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of marketing, sales, or engineering experience, product management experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in doing business in Latin America.
  • Knowledge of tools business, mainly in the Mechanic Tools (Sockets & Wrenches and Pliers & Screwdrivers).
  • Automotive Business knowledge is a plus.
  • Having worked in global organization is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, Marketing Management, or related field.
  • Strong project management skills – PMO education is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and ensure execution of the plan.
  • Excellent oral / written communication skills in Spanish and English, Portuguese a plus (for non‑Portuguese speakers).
  • Ability to present complex material to a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including creativity, decisiveness, agility, multi‑tasking, proactivity, prioritization, among others, in a very fast‑paced working environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financials.
