Role Mission

ABB is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Process Industries division in Brazil, focusing on the High Power Rectifier (HPR) portfolio. If you have experience in power electronics and are ready to take on technical challenges in high-impact projects, this opportunity is for you!

Responsibilities

• Perform field activities related to High Power Rectifiers (HPR), including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
• Execute services according to planning and internal procedures, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation of services performed, including materials used, hours worked, and improvement opportunities.
• Identify new business opportunities during field activities and forward them internally.
• Ensure availability and organization of materials, tools, and spare parts for service execution.
• Provide specialized technical support to Service teams, contributing to planning and solutions.
• Strictly comply with occupational health and safety policies (OHS) and keep technical documentation and NR-10 records updated.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronic, or Automation.
• Experience in power electronics.
• Knowledge of controllers and programming logic (AC800PEC and/or Control Builder is a plus).
• Availability for frequent travel.
• Valid Category B driver's license.
• Languages: Intermediate English and Spanish (fluency in English will be considered an advantage).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of industrial processes using High Power Rectifiers (Aluminum, Chlorine, Hydrogen, Arc Furnace, etc.).
• Experience with process improvements and root cause analysis on installed equipment.
• Familiarity with safety standards and technical documentation.
