We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team working closely with cloud giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google to optimize Ubuntu for their infrastructure. Your team builds, tests, and publishes Ubuntu images used globally, ensuring performance, security, and a consistent user experience across clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of engineers across multiple time zones
• Mentor and develop team members' skills and careers
• Contribute technically through code reviews and architecture
• Manage stakeholder expectations and collaborate with other teams
• Implement modern, agile development practices
• Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
• Automate image delivery, testing, and publishing pipelines
• Engage with internal teams, open source communities, and partners
• Travel up to 15% for internal and external events

Qualifications

• Passion for mentoring and developing engineers
• Strong software development background, especially in Python and Golang
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Excellent communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent
