The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio, video, lighting, and conferencing equipment for events, presentations, and installations in corporate, hospitality, or educational environments. This hands-on role demands a high level of technical skill, customer service orientation, and attention to detail to ensure seamless AV experiences for end users and clients.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and operate AV equipment including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, and control systems.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV systems.

Provide technical support during meetings, events, and video conferences.

Set up live streaming and recording equipment as required.

Coordinate with internal departments and clients for event AV planning.

Maintain inventory and ensure all AV gear is functional and up to date.

Assist with integration of AV systems in new facility projects.

Manage signal routing, cable management, and AV system calibration.

Document configurations and update equipment manuals and SOPs.

Train end users and staff on the proper use of AV systems.

Requirements:

Diploma or certification in Electronics, Sound Engineering, or related technical field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in AV installation and support.

Familiarity with major AV brands (Crestron, Extron, Shure, JBL, etc.).

Working knowledge of video conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, Webex).

Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Ability to lift and install AV equipment safely.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as required.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
