Job summary
A major UAE port operator in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced electrical technician. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various port equipment, ensuring operational reliability. The position requires a diploma in electrical engineering or a bachelor's degree, a valid UAE driving license, and at least 2 years of relevant experience. You will follow safety protocols and keep documentation for the CMMS system. This role offers a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance workshop.
- Holder of a valid UAE driving license.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and fault finding on Port Equipment.
- Ensure maximum operational availability via diagnostics and repairs.
- Report breakdowns and ensure safety regulations are followed.
Skills
Education
To provide the electrical troubleshooting, repair services and routine maintenance of the Port’s mobile equipment to ensure the maximum operation availability and reliability.
- Carrying out maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the Mobile Harbour Cranes, Terminal Tractors, Forklifts and other Port Equipment and carries out the tasks assigned by Supervisor.
- Follow standard engineering practices ensures maximum operational availability of Mobile Equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods.
- Carries out duties independently when called out and reports breakdowns and faults.
- Ensures that emergency work is followed up by reporting to supervision.
- Details of the job carried out to be written in the provided work orders, including the man hours
- Ensures that work is undertaken in a safe manner and that practices conform to safety regulations and procedures as defined by Ports.
- Ensures accurate up to date information is provided for input into the CMMS System.
- Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment he is responsible for.
- Will keep him "abreast" of all the latest technologies relating to this industry and attend any training provided.
- Diploma in Electrical, preferably bachelor’s degree holder
- Holder of a valid UAE driving license
- Ability to write in a clear concise manner and to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar capacity in a maintenance workshop.
