Are you an RVN who's ready for a change? A bit more sunshine, a better work-life balance, and a tax-free salary, all in a team where your skills are genuinely valued?
Welcome to Dr. Well Veterinary Hospital, an independent small animal clinic in Dubai, and your potential new home. Whether you're craving a fresh adventure or looking to give your family a brighter lifestyle in a safe, sunny, and opportunity-rich city, this could be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
We're building something special here: a practice that's clinically excellent, community-focused, and truly collaborative. And we’re now looking for a confident, passionate RVN to help shape the future of our nursing team. If you're ready to leave behind the drizzle (and maybe a bit of CMA drama, too) and join a team that celebrates your ideas, knowledge, and enthusiasm, read on.
So, who are we?
We’re a growing clinic in the heart of Dubai, just a short distance from the beach, founded by Dr David and Dr Sarah, both highly experienced UK-trained vets. Together, they’ve built a forward-thinking clinic that combines high clinical standards with genuine team support, a deep commitment to patient care, and a healthy dose of humour (check out our social media!).
David, originally from Jersey, has been a practising vet since 1993 and founded multiple clinics and a hospital in the UK before making the move to Dubai in 2022. He’s a highly skilled surgeon, performing advanced soft-tissue surgeries (like BOAS) and orthopaedic procedures, including fracture repairs. Sarah worked as Head of Medicine at a small animal hospital in London and Clinical Director of a busy UK practice before relocating to the UAE in 2021 with her family. Sarah is an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine, with strong interests in feline medicine, oncology, pain management, acupuncture, and end-of-life care.
Since we opened our doors in 2022, we’ve earned a strong reputation across the local and expat communities. This started with our founders' medical expertise and has continued to flourish because of the kindness, knowledge, and empathy our whole team brings to their work. We’ve grown fast and carefully, recently expanding our vet team to include Dr Charlotte, an Advanced Practitioner in ECC. We will also be welcoming two vets to the team this autumn.
We’re now ready to strengthen our nursing team and are looking for an experienced RVN to join us. You’ll work alongside Nardeen, our calm and unflappable Senior RVN (also known as the resident cat-whisperer), Olivia, our fantastic student nurse, our three brilliant, hardworking VCA’s: Junior, Conrad, and Desmond, and our kennel assistants, Dill and Shalomi. They all bring so much heart to our team and passion to everything they do.
“The best part of working as a nurse at Dr. Well Veterinary Clinic is having the opportunity to care for rescue patients, giving them the nursing attention they need, potentially saving their lives, and helping them find the loving homes they deserve. It’s rewarding to not only provide medical care, but also to give them the affection and comfort they need while they’re under my care.
What I love about living in Dubai is how kind and helpful everyone is. You also can’t beat the warm weather! I appreciate the opportunities for personal and professional growth here in the UAE.” Olivia, SVN
“Living and working in Dubai had been a tough challenge till I joined Dr. Well Veterinary Clinic. Been in the industry for over 6 years now, and I've never felt more at home. Dr. Well has been a lifesaver for my career with the help of 2 incredible people, Dr. David and Dr Sarah, who gave me the opportunity to thrive in veterinary nursing. Looking at where Dr Well Veterinary Clinic is today brings a big smile to my face, from the early quiet and renovation days to a busy Clinic with the best service and client relations.
I couldn't be any happier than now with Dr Well Veterinary Clinic. It's been an amazing journey and I'm proud to be a part of this organisation. If you're looking to gain more knowledge in surgical procedures and internal medicine, then Dr. Well is the place for you. Great staff, lovely clients and more. Let Dr Well Veterinary Clinic be a part of your career success.” Junior, VCA
What we’re looking for
We're looking for an RVN with a couple of years’ post-qualification experience, who is registered with the RCVS or an equivalent professional body (VNCA or SAVC). We’re after someone who wants to be hands-on, take initiative, and work with Nardeen to shape the future of nursing in our practice.
We’d love you to share your training, knowledge and skills, supporting our SVN and VCAs and helping us drive clinical standards. This could involve updating SOPs, launching additional nurse clinics, or helping us achieve important goals like Gold Feline-Friendly, Fear Free, and Zero Pain certification.
The role? It’s what you make it.
This is a place where we want to help you grow. Whether you’re more theatre-focused, feline-obsessed, passionate about clinical coaching, or ready to start (or finish) that certificate you’ve been eyeing up for years, we’ll give you the time, resources, and freedom to develop that passion. You’ll be supported every step of the way, but you’ll also be trusted to show initiative. We believe in empowering our team to bring their ideas to the table and giving them the backing they need to make things happen.
This isn’t a sleepy consult-only clinic, and our caseload is growing fast. We deal with some complex cases, with local disease profiles that are genuinely fascinating (and intense). FIP, feline herpes, vector-borne disease… so you’ll never be bored. We’ve got all the kit you'd expect, including a rehabilitation treadmill, and we’re always open to investing in new equipment if there’s a case for it.
What’s the rota like?
We're looking for a full-time RVN to work a 5-day week, with shifts spread across our 7-day schedule. We’re not a 24-hour clinic (yet), but we are open every day: Monday to Friday 8 am–7 pm, Saturday 8 am–6 pm, Sunday 9 am–2 pm.
Shifts include a mix of early, mid, and late starts, and we work hard to keep things flexible to support real life, whether you need to do the school run, get to an appointment, or fancy a long weekend in the mountains. Lunch breaks are protected, overtime is paid, and we treat everyone with the respect they deserve, not just on paper, but day to day.
What we offer
What’s life in Dubai really like?
You’ve probably heard the stereotypes. Blingy, flashy, over-the-top. And yes, if that’s your thing, you’ll definitely find it here. But that’s not what life has to look like. Most of our team live a pretty grounded life, with early morning trail runs or bike rides before work, paddleboarding or gym classes in the evening, beach walks with the dog, and weekend escapes to the mountains. Dubai is also one of the most multicultural cities in the world, which means wherever you’re from, you’ll feel welcome.
Fitness is a way of life in Dubai. There’s a real emphasis on healthy, active living here, and even a city-wide fitness challenge every year (the Dubai 30x30) that gets everyone moving. Whether you’re into CrossFit, trail running, martial arts, yoga, or just want a solid gym, you’ll find your tribe here.
Dubai consistently ranks among the safest cities in the world, and when we say it’s safe, we mean really safe. It’s the kind of place where you can leave your phone on the table at your local coffee shop to claim your spot, head off to get your order, and come back to find it exactly where you left it. Many of us leave our front doors unlocked, and kids play freely in their neighbourhoods.
Yes, the summer months are hot and humid (there’s no sugar-coating that), but life continues thanks to excellent air conditioning. Every car, home, clinic, coffee shop, and shopping mall is air-conditioned to the max. You adapt quickly, shifting your outdoor time to early mornings and late evenings when the air is cooler and the city slows down. And the reward? From October to April, the weather is simply glorious – warm days, blue skies, and endless sunshine.
Dubai is a brilliant place to raise children. It’s incredibly safe, there’s a huge choice of international schools, and kids are spoiled for activity options – from dance and drama to every sport you can imagine. The work-life balance and family-friendly lifestyle are a big draw for many.
Whether you’re moving solo or bringing a partner and kids, Dubai offers the kind of lifestyle that lets you work hard, live well, and try something new. It’s a city full of energy, opportunity, and people who once came for “a year or two” and ended up staying much, much longer.
Interested? Let’s chat. We’d love to tell you more about us and see if this could be the opportunity you didn’t know you were waiting for. Call for an informal chat or apply now if you’re ready to pack your bags and start a new chapter in the sunshine.
