Overview

Technical Safety Lead Engineer role focusing on Loss Prevention and Fire Fighting Systems with hazardous area scheduling according to API 505 EI 15 and IEC, to manage safety programs in the Middle East. The role involves designing and implementing fire protection systems ensuring compliance with regional regulations and leading risk assessments to prevent incidents in high-risk sectors such as oil & gas and petrochemicals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of fire safety and loss prevention strategies.
  • Design, implement and maintain fire safety systems (e.g. suppression, alarms, sprinklers).
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
  • Develop and test emergency response plans and provide safety training.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and local authorities to integrate safety systems into projects.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Fire Protection, Chemical or related field).
  • Experience: 15-20 years in safety engineering focusing on fire protection and loss prevention in the Middle East.
Preferred
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or other hazardous industries.
  • Knowledge of regional safety standards (Iraq, UAE, Kuwait).
