Job description
Technology and Career Centre (TCC) Supervisor

Location/Campus: All Emirates, with current focus on TCC buildings located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City (MBZ) and Al Ain.

Role Overview

The Technology and Career Centre (TCC) Supervisor is responsible for the operational management, maintenance, and safety compliance of the TCC building, which houses diverse vocational workshops including mobility, jewellery, culinary, building materials, electrical installation, healthcare, cosmetics, media, programming and gaming, carpentry, fashion design, and smart agriculture.

This role requires an industrial engineering professional with hands-on expertise in vocational training equipment and workshop machinery. The Supervisor ensures all facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with educational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Equipment & Machinery Management
    • Oversee the operation and maintenance of a wide range of workshop equipment and tools.
    • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules as per OEM standards.
    • Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
    • Manage spare parts and consumables inventory to minimize downtime.
    • Supervise equipment installation, calibration, and testing.
    • Prepare and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment use and maintenance.
    • Conduct life cycle analysis and condition assessment reports for all equipment.
  2. Asset Management
    • Maintain an updated inventory of all equipment and tools.
    • Implement asset tagging and tracking systems.
    • Manage and monitor AMCs for major equipment.
    • Prepare market price lists for spare parts and consumables.
    • Conduct lifecycle analysis to guide procurement and replacement decisions.
  3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
    • Ensure compliance with local and international HSE standards across all workshops.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
    • Maintain and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
    • Organize staff training on safety procedures and emergency response.
    • Record and report safety incidents; implement corrective measures.
  4. Facility Management
    • Oversee maintenance of the TCC building infrastructure (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
    • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance.
    • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workshop spaces.
    • Manage utility services for uninterrupted operations.
    • Oversee supporting services including cleaning, security, catering, transportation, and pest control.
  5. Administrative & Reporting
    • Prepare and manage budgets for equipment and facility operations.
    • Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and safety compliance.
    • Liaise with academic staff to align workshop facilities with curriculum needs.
    • Stay updated on new technologies relevant to vocational training and recommend upgrades.
Work Environment

The role requires regular presence in workshop environments, with strict adherence to safety protocols. It involves hands-on inspections and occasional equipment operation for testing purposes.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years managing vocational training workshops or similar facilities.
  • Certifications (preferred):
  • Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE – SME)
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP – SMRP)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • Certified Technology Manager (CTM – ATMAE)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
