Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a Structural Engineer to design steelwork platforms for baggage handling systems. The role involves conducting structural analysis and preparing 3D models while coordinating with project stakeholders. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in airport-related projects. Proficiency in Tekla Structures is essential. This is a full-time on-site position, aiming for quality and safety in all deliverables.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Design model and detail steelwork platforms and support structures for baggage handling systems using Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer.
• Conduct structural analysis and stability checks to ensure safe and costeffective designs compliant with international codes.
• Prepare 3D models general arrangement drawings fabrication packages and connection details in coordination with project stakeholders.
• Work closely with internal project teams fabricators installation contractors and consultants to ensure design clarity and interface resolution.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical support throughout the fabrication and site installation phases.
• Review fabrication drawings perform clash detection and assist in resolving site issues or design modifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 57 years of handson experience in structural steelwork design preferably in industrial or airportrelated projects.
• Proficient in Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer; familiarity with AutoCAD and other structural analysis tools (e.g. or SAP2000) is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes materials welding standards and erection procedures.
• Ability to interpret and coordinate with architectural MEP and equipment layout drawings.
• Knowledge of international design standards such as Eurocode AISC or BS codes.
• Prior experience with BHS steel platforms or airport infrastructure projects preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across multicultural multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to quality safety and ontime delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple project interfaces and deadlines.
