Senior Project Manager/Project Director (Bridges)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Project Director to lead and oversee the successful execution of a large-scale infrastructure project, including bridges, interchanges, and related civil works.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan, direct, supervise, and control all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program or project.
- Provide strategic direction to ensure project objectives align with client expectations and organizational goals.
- Act as the primary representative of the company, maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for additional work and fostering long-term client relationships.
- Establish program requirements, including budgets, schedules, and deliverables, and ensure adherence to these criteria.
- Mobilize resources and build high-performing project teams by leveraging internal and external expertise.
- Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, including Health and Safety Plans, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans, and Work Plans.
- Monitor project progress, including milestones, budgets, and schedules, and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks, cost overruns, or delays, and develop actionable plans to mitigate these issues.
- Ensure technical excellence and compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Assign responsibilities to key subordinates, ensuring optimal utilization of their skills and expertise.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers and team members, including input on performance reviews and development plans.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and represent the company in public meetings to support client objectives.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 20 years of experience in construction supervision and project management
- Extensive experience in the construction of large-scale infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on bridges, interchanges, and highways.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
