Title :

Senior Mechanical Engineer _Static

Job Requirement

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and delivery of static equipment for Oil & Gas projects across all phases, from conceptual design through to detailed engineering. The role involves performing complex technical tasks, developing and reviewing engineering deliverables, and providing guidance to junior engineers. Working closely with Lead Mechanical Engineers and other engineering disciplines, the Senior Engineer ensures high-quality, compliant designs aligned with project objectives and international standards. Key responsibilities include developing specifications and data sheets, coordinating with vendors, inter‑discipline engineers and clients, and supporting safety and integrity reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and model reviews.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME Sec VIII Div‑1 & Div‑2, EN‑13445, API 650 and other relevant API standards.
  • Strong understanding of Client Specifications and international compliance requirements.
  • Familiar with the latest engineering and analytical techniques / software as applicable.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, data sheets, and design calculations for static and packaged equipment.
  • Complete requisitioning process for specialty static equipment and packages from preparation of Technical Bid Evaluations to Bid Clarifications processing and Technical Qualification.
  • Proficient in use of Software design tools such as PV Elite, Compress and related sizing software
Job Responsibility and Requirement
  • Expert knowledge of International Codes & Standards related to static mechanical equipment and packaged process units.
  • Provide advanced technical input and perform complex calculations for the design, selection and specification of static equipment in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and validate engineering deliverables such as data sheets, drawings, technical reports, design calculations and requisitions prepared by Engineers to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with international codes and project standards.
  • Review Vendor documentation. Co‑ordinate and consolidate Vendor documentation comments from other discipline engineers.
  • Serve as a technical focal point within the team supporting equipment evaluations, troubleshooting and vendor interfaces during detailed design and procurement phases.
  • Lead preparation and coordination of mechanical discipline deliverables including quality assurance in collaboration with project engineers and document control.
  • Assist Lead Engineer in developing CTR manhours against Scope definitions.
  • Mentor and support Mechanical Engineers by sharing expertise, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to resolve design interfaces and ensure alignment of mechanical equipment and packages with project objectives.
  • Participate in Mechanical activities such as design reviews, HAZID Workshops, HAZOP Workshops and contribute with senior‑level insight and ensuring mechanical discipline concerns are adequately addressed.
Skills and Experience required
  • Minimum of 10-12 years' progressive experience with at least 8 years in an Oil and Gas Industry Specialist Static Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Expert understanding in designing and optimizing static equipment for oil and gas applications.
  • Proven track record as mechanical engineer for engineering projects from conceptual to completion, meeting quality, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Competent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
Mandatory
  • Degree educated preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional accreditation preferred.
  • Proven track record as a Mechanical Engineer on successful engineering projects.
