Job description

Manage and supervise the development, implementation and monitoring of the Maritime Sector Strategic Plans including Plan Maritime and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) by taking a leadership role and engaging with all relevant stakeholders in the Abu Dhabi Maritime ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Maritime Sector Strategy section for achieving its goal and objectives.
  • Develop and own the Plan Maritime for Abu Dhabi Emirate.
  • Monitor, track and report on the Plan Maritime progress of projects and initiatives based on engagement and feedback with all stakeholders across entities with exposure to Abu Dhabi Maritime ecosystem.
  • Arrange for annual and periodic review and update of the Plan Maritime and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) by engagement with all the stakeholders.
  • Monitor all project management activities to execute all phases of the full Business Continuity program lifecycle.
  • Manage the consolidation of all strategic plans related to the ICZM section and the execution and implementation of the Strategic Plan.
  • Manage Maritime sector Strategy section budget preparation (in coordination with corporate strategy) and submit to the Director Strategic interface for approval.
  • Support Director Strategic Interface Management for development, compilation and implementation of all policies and regulations relevant to the AD Maritime Authority.
  • Oversee and the performance management activities for the Maritime Sector Strategy section.
  • Ensure all performance management & strategic planning development activities are executed and implemented in accordance with the performance standards set by AD Maritime.
  • Support the Director Strategic Interface in communication and coordination between stakeholders in the maritime sector in order to promote effective working partnerships.
  • Provide support to all Divisional Directors, experts and staff in performing their delegated tasks.
  • Prepare reports on the overall performance of the Maritime Sector Strategy section for the Director Strategic interface.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Director Strategic Interface.

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Development of Plan Maritime implementation effectiveness assessment, including suggesting areas for improvement in regulatory framework, ICZM and Maritime sector strategic plans.
  • Leading and managing daily schedules of 2 specialists (Specialist Strategy Management and Strategic Planning working under him) in the section.
  • Ensure all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate training programs.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Conducting organizational research; performing and evaluating business impact analyses and risk assessments; developing program policies, plans and procedures; coordinating testing and exercise activities; and providing training and awareness communications.
  • Ensure availability of all required resources to carry out all the tasks related to the waterways management section.
  • Review and endorse (in coordination with the Finance & Accounts Division) the section’s budget and forward to the Director strategic interface.
  • Ensure that all the technology needs of the section are identified to ensure that the section’s processes are performed efficiently and cost effectively.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Maritime, transport, Studies & Economics, Public Policy, Transportation, or related fields.
  • Master’s Degree (preferred) in Strategy, Maritime transport, management, Economics, Public Administration, or MBA with a focus on maritime transportation/logistics.
