Job description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our engineering team in Dubai for a major onshore oil and gas project. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in FEED Detailed Design and Detailed Engineering with hands‑on experience in instrumentation design specification and coordination for oil and gas facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute instrumentation engineering tasks during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.
  • Prepare and review key deliverables such as:
    • Instrument Index I/O List Instrument Data Sheets Hook‑Up Drawings Wiring Diagrams and Cable Schedules.
  • Develop instrument specifications, control philosophies and loop diagrams in line with project and industry standards.
  • Evaluate and select field instrumentation valves and control systems based on process and project requirements.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of instrumentation systems.
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications and technical requirements.
  • Participate in technical reviews, HAZOPs, SIL assessments and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure all instrumentation engineering deliverables comply with ADNOC and international standards (e.g. IEC ISA).
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in instrumentation engineering for onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Strong experience in FEED Detailed Design and Detailed Engineering phases.
  • Solid understanding of field instrumentation control systems and safety systems (SIS, ESD, FG).
  • Familiarity with ADNOC specifications and other international codes and standards (e.g. IEC ISA, API).
  • Proficient in SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) InTools or other relevant software tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and review technical documents.
